'Beefy' charged after gun used in alleged $5,000 dispute in Westmoreland
A Westmoreland welder known as 'Beefy' has been charged after allegedly turning up at a man's home armed with a gun and launching a violent attack over a disputed $5,000.
Bryan Webster, 35, of Campbellton in Petersfield, is charged with possession of a firearm with intent to injure, assault at common law, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and two counts of malicious destruction of property.
According to the Jamaica Constabulary Force, the incident unfolded about 7 a.m. on March 4, when Webster allegedly confronted the man at his home, accusing him of taking the money.
Investigators say a heated argument escalated into violence, with Webster reportedly throwing stones and a blunt object, leaving the complainant injured and a window damaged.
Police further allege the victim fled inside his house for safety, but Webster broke a padlock from the veranda gate and later pointed a firearm at him.
A report was made and an investigation launched, leading to Webster's arrest during an operation in the community.
He was later charged after statements were recorded.
