Taxi man charged after failed business deal

November 24, 2025

Sixty-four-year-old taxi operator Nollis Lindsay, otherwise called 'Baldhead,' of Richmond Hill, Port Antonio, Portland, has been charged with larceny of motor vehicle and fraudulent conversion following a failed business transaction in the parish between April 2023 and October 2025.

Reports from the Port Antonio police are that a woman employed Lindsay as a taxi operator in 2023. The vehicle sustained damages in April of that year, and the woman later provided him with the documents, then instructed him to sell it. After several enquiries, Lindsay informed her that he had sold the vehicle for $50,000 but said his attempts to contact her afterward were unsuccessful. He also informed the woman that he would hand over the sum after he received a partner draw last month.

The woman reported the matter to the police after she did not receive the funds as promised, and an investigation launched. Lindsay later turned himself in to the police in the presence of his attorney. He was charged last Saturday following a question-and-answer session. He is scheduled to appear in the Portland Parish Court on January 13, 2026.
