Chapelton Maroons FC secured back-to-back wins in the Jamaica Premier League for the first time since September, scoring a 2-1 win over Harbour View FC to move into the top six, following their football match at Turner's Oval in Clarendon on Sunday.

Zhaine Pinnock got the home team off to the best possible start, with a goal after only two minutes of play.

Rohan Brown would equalise for Harbour View with a 65th-minute strike. But Mona High School's Manning Cup captain and leading scorer, Sean Leighton, would secure all three points for Donovan Duckie's team with a goal five minutes before the end.

The win lifted Chapelton to sixth in the standings on 18 points, two more than Waterhouse FC, which played to a 0-0 draw against home team Racing United, who are second on 28 points, at Ferdi Neita Park.

BETTER CHANCES

Visitors Waterhouse had the better of the chances, but failed to make them count. Javane Bryan had the best chance of the match but put his header wide from inside the six yards area.

However, DeAndre Johnson had a similarly easy chance for Racing United moments later, but he miskicked from six yards out, with the goal at his mercy.

Despite losing their grip on the lead, Racing's head coach Anthony Patrick said they are still well placed.

"We still have MoBay to play, we still have all the teams to play. But the good thing is that they are not far in front of us," he said.

He also thought they could have come away with all the points.

BIG DIFFERENCE

"The underfoot conditions made a big difference, we never got any time to do what we wanted to do, both teams," Patrick related to the muddy conditions. "But we created a few openings, but the killer instinct just wasn't there."

Waterhouse's coach Jermaine Miller said they deserved more from the game.

"There were small areas of the pitch we could utilise, but I don't think we utilised it well. But we created some good opportunities and really should have won the game," he commented.

Molynes United and Mount Pleasant Football Academy battled to a goalless finish. The latter are fourth on 23 points, with three games in hand, while Molynes United are eighth on 16 points.

The game between Dunbeholden and Spanish Town Police was postponed due to a waterlogged field.
