Macini prays for Jamaica on new single
UK-based dancehall artiste Macini is creating a buzz locally with a new single titled ' Pray For Jamaica'.
Macini said he wrote and recorded the song to lift the spirits of the Jamaican people as the island recovers from the devastating effects of Hurricane Melissa.
"After watching the news and seeing all the devastation that took place in my homeland because of this hurricane, I felt really sad. Music is my therapy. So I decided to write a song to lift the spirits of the people in Jamaica as they work to rebuild the country," he said.
But he added that although Pray For Jamaica is a song of inspiration, it's also a party song.
"I recorded it on an up-tempo dancehall rhythm because I want to give the people something to dance to and have fun and ease their minds during these turbulent times."
The Jamaica-born deejay is confident that the song, which was produced and released by his Macini Music label, will be a hit.
"This song is going all the way to the top. I'm getting a lot of positive feedback about it from my fans and industry experts. Everyone is saying it's going to be a hit and it's getting a lot of airplay from DJs all over the world, including Jamaica, the UK, Gambia, Nigeria and Canada," he said. He also revealed that he plans to visit the island soon to shoot the visuals for the single, while working on other projects.
Macini is also enjoying rotation with previous releases such as Bellfoot and She Naa Behave, which was produced by top-flight producer Troyton Remi.
