Councillor wants crackdown on unauthorised watercraft
Councillor for the Montego Bay North Division Senator Charles Sinclair Jnr wants a crackdown on illegal watercraft entering and leaving Jamaica’s shores.
The former mayor says too many unauthorised and unregulated watercraft leaving and entering Jamaican can lead to a breeding ground for crime and violence.
“A device should be fitted to these vessels in order for their movement to be tracked, and the operators must give the police reasons for their sea travel,” said Sinclair.
He also remains adamant that St James and Jamaica needs continued States of Public Emergency to assist the security forces in their fight against crime and violence.
